Katie Gregson Macleod releases heart wrenching 'complex'

Scottish singer songwriter Katie Gregson Macleod is the latest TikTok musician to take the world by storm.

Since posting a minute-long snippet of the heart wrenching chorus of her song 'complex,' the Highlands artist was met with 7.9 million views, duets from the likes of JP Saxe and Gracie Abrams, and a quickly signed record deal with Columbia Records.

You just needed to glance at her TikTok comment section to see the anticipation for the song. Uncommon amongst many TikTok artists, within a matter of weeks complex (demo) was released, revealing the sheer quality of the full song and Katie's unique ability to write painfully relatable lyrics and astonishingly beautiful melodies above a simple piano.

Complex is the fully realised version, produced by mega producer Greg Kurstin (Adele, Twenty One Pilots), featuring a few harmonies and muffled drums and synths to carry the song home. Keeping to a stripped arrangement, this version still allows the lyrics and melodies to shine through.
